Creating Value in Wikis and Blogs via Viral Marketing
In January of 2004 NextStage was approached by a small New England college which was having difficulty attracting promising students and students with high academic standing.

Improving Design to Promote Usability
The company's president came to NextStage and stated the following, "Our site has won Best-in-Show awards several years running but it's not getting us any business. Can you help?"

Improving WebSite Performance
We continue to use NextStage to monitor changes in our site visitors' population and interests. We're now able to predict which audience types will be coming online and when. We can budget the resources necessary for site redesign ahead of time and know we're going to be capturing the incoming market as it arrives.

Improving Design to Increase Usability and Brand Loyalty
NextStage's TargetTrack and WebSight tools allowed us to assess a host of usage issues that just can't be measured using conventional testing approaches. It gave us an opportunity to go a lot deeper, and the result was something much more valuable to our client than a typical study would have been. The correlation between what we saw during the interviews and what NextStage's tools picked up behind the scenes was startling, and we know much more, now, about website visitor behaviors, demographics and psychological factors than we would have.

Predicting Election Outcomes Via NextStage's TargetTrack
NextStage was approached late in September of 2003 by the Lieberman Presidential Campaign camp. At that time, Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT) was running in the democratic Presidential primaries against a very large field, although the main contenders at the time boiled down to Senator Lieberman, Senator John Kerry (D-MA) and Howard Dean (ex-governor, D-VT).

Site-Penetration Up 225%, Time-On-Site Up 300%, Conversions Up 20% in Four Months
'I asked NextStage to use TargetTrack on our site and five of our competitors' sites. TargetTrack showed our five competitors with pretty much the same messages; 'Learn about us here' Our site had the message 'Go away, we're not ready.' I told NextStage's consultants this was hard to believe because I had designed one of those competitive sites as well. About ten minutes later while I was thinking about it, I realized that when I designed our site we didn't have a product and were about six months away from having one. I remember that I was really nervous someone would actually contact us and ask for a demo when we had nothing to show them. NextStage's TargetTrack correctly analyzed the message that was deeply embedded in our site, and because I'd never updated our site the message was still there, months after we'd been in the market."

Search Engine Savings Up 50% in One Week
The client's existing internet campaign was considered completely unsuccessful with a near zero ROI after a year's time while their existing offline customer base grew and non-internet sales continued briskly. Knowing there was a strong and established home gourmet market, the client was considering a major campaign -- heavily search engine based -- to create awareness. The client had engaged a market research firm to develop a home buyer profile and paid for a "rough draft" home buyer site, and were now looking for a means of pre-marketing to get a higher comfort level prior to a full investment.

Site ReDesign to Facilitate User Migration and Increase Branding
A three year old software development firm based in southern NH came to NextStage because some key website metrics (visitor time on site, visitor time on page and visitor site penetration) had changed for the worse over a seven month period. The client asked NextStage to evaluate their situation and, if possible, offer some suggestions for bringing in new business.

Using NextStage's TargetTrack in Political Campaigns
Although presented as a case study, readers are cautioned that the information contained in this paper was actually part of a research project taken on by NextStage Evolution. The purpose of the research was to determine if minor edits to political writings could influence election outcomes. This research is built on work done originally during the US 2004 Presidential campaign.
